Wasuitas performing at the Kathmandu branch annual
talent show. Did a Nepali folksong "Reshamfiriri"
It was fun.
The Valentines(Jim and Chris) replaced the Mendenhalls as other missionary couple here. They arrived on March 9, 2014. They are from Boise, but just recently moved there from Idaho Falls, where they lived for most of their married life. They are a great couple and our good friends here.
This is the day they arrived, at the airport. Official welcome is to put
scarves around their neck(called cottas). We own lots of them now.
They use them at project ceremonies too, to show recognition.

Chariot

This was Bhaktapur
This one was at Bhaktapur
We went to Auson Bazaar one day. It is an open market with lots of shops. The local people always shop here. You can usually get a good price on things. anyways a certain Hindu festival was going on. I think it was part of Raato Machhendranath. They build a huge  chariot. It was pretty amazing.

Chitwan, The Elephant breeding grounds

We returned to Chitwan to a wheelchair distribution with the Valentines(other missionary couple). While they went on an elephant ride we went to the elephant breeding grounds. There was a small building there explaining the life of the elephants . It was very interesting. Then we went out and saw the mama elephants and their babies. It was a fun day.

Nepal Gates

Most every home and apartment and bigger business have a brick wall surrounding their property and they are gated. I have been trying to collect pictures of different gates. Hopefully when I return home I can make a coffee table book with all of my gate pictures. Here are a few of them.

some are pretty sad looking

Some are very beautiful
